is “nature’s way of recycling carbon”.

Carbon is found in all living things as well as non-living things such as carbon dioxide. It plays many important roles in our ecosystem. The carbon cycle describes how carbon can change forms and move throughout the ecosystem as it is recycled from one use to another. For example, in photosynthesis, carbon dioxide from the air is used by plants to make a carbon-containing sugar they use for food.
