ABOUT US

Air for kids was designed with one goal; air quality education. The air we breathe in is paramount to our health and wellbeing. Not to mention the impact the air has on our planet’s ecosystem. We believe learning about air quality is a vital subject that everyone should know more about. As part of Airthings’ commitment to the UN Global Compact initiative, we have therefore set the ambitious goal of educating one million children about air quality by 2026!

Airthings created Air for Kids with educators in mind. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of parents, caregivers and loved ones have been forced to oversee their child’s education during lockdowns and school closures. On top of this, school teachers, lecturers, and educators more generally, have been forced to adapt to a new way of working, teaching and engaging their students often online.

Here you will find tailored content and resources to help you do what you do best, educate. Gift-wrapped in a fun, and most importantly manageable and straightforward way. Learning about the air outside and inside has never been simpler.

Have a 15 mins gap in your lecture today? Why not try one of our fun quizzes. Need a more thorough overview of outdoor air? Enter our ‘learn’ portal to find articles. If you’re looking for activity worksheets, quizzes or infographics to print out, go check out the downloadable files on our ‘For Educators’ page!

Information you can trust.

Airthings is on a mission to ensure people around the world take control of their air quality through simple, sustainable, air quality solutions. Our founders are CERN scientists, from the European Organization for Nuclear Research. You might have heard of the Hadron Collider, the world’s largest particle accelerator? It collides protons or lead ions at energies approaching the speed of light. It’s based at CERN, the largest particle physics laboratory in the world.

From their expertise, our CERN scientists built the world’s first battery powered radon detector. They now offer solutions for indoor air quality for buildings and homes around the world. We created Air for kids as a completely separate site, its aim is simple. To provide the best resources for educators and children around the world to learn about air quality.
